Privacy Statement (CA)

This notice describes the personal information protection policies and practices applied by the Municipality of the Canton of Saint-Godefroi (hereinafter the “Organization”) in connection with this service (hereinafter the “Service”).

General consent

By accessing the Service you consent to the collection, use, communication and retention of personal information under the conditions described in this notice. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Site.

Personal information collected

Information which concerns a natural person (hereinafter the “User”) and which allows them to be identified, directly or indirectly, is personal information (“PI”).

The Organization only collects PI that is necessary for the purposes of using the Service. With the exception of specific contexts (described below), the Service does not require or collect any PI allowing a User to be directly identified.

The collection of personal information that does not allow the identification of a User is limited to the following information:

  • IP adress
  • Browser and operating system
  • Schedule and duration of use


Specific contexts

The Organization may ask the User to provide personal information enabling them to be identified in order to carry out processing in a context requiring the identification of the User. Where applicable, the Organization explicitly presents the PI to be provided and their use so that the User can consent to the collection of this PI.

Examples of specific contexts:

  • Creating an account
  • Submitting an application
  • Information request
  • Subscribe to a mailing list

The RP collected in a specific context are processed by rules which ensure their destruction or anonymization, total or partial, when the deadline prescribed by the context processing process is reached.

A User account, where applicable, may be deleted autonomously, at any time, by the account holder, which will result in the complete and irrevocable destruction of the RP concerning them. If a User is not able to delete their account themselves, they can request this from the Organization, which undertakes to delete it as soon as possible.

Uses

The Organization collects, uses and discloses personal information for the following purposes:

  • Creating and managing a user account for the Service
  • Authentication and management of access and use of the Service
  • Respond and process user requests
  • Personalization of the user’s subscription preferences to the Service
  • The transmission of notices according to the preferences of the user of the Service


Method of collection and consent

Personal information is collected directly from the User. The PI provided must be accurate, complete and up to date.

The organization obtains your consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your PII or relies on an applicable exception.

Withdrawal of consent

It will generally not be possible to withdraw your consent to the use of your personal information for the management and administration of the Service by the organization. Indeed, the uses of the PI collected which are described above are required for the purposes of managing and operating the Service. Therefore, although you have the right to withdraw your consent to the use of your personal information, if applicable, the Organization will no longer be able to give you access to the Service.

Access and Communications

Your personal information is accessible only to members of the Organization’s staff who must have access to it as part of their duties.

The Service may include hyperlinks to other third-party websites, which are independent from this Service. The Organization is not responsible for the content and policies of these sites. The Organization recommends that you read the policies of these sites before using them. Personal information that you transmit through these third party sites will be subject to the third party’s privacy policy.

In exceptional cases, the Organization may also provide access to or communicate your personal information to third parties including service providers within the framework and for the purposes of the execution of service contracts, or to public authorities, for example:

  • A person acting for you with your consent
  • Our service providers, including the company that manages the Service
  • A public body responsible for investigation or law enforcement, including criminal and penal prosecution authorities
  • The Commission for Access to Information (controlling authority for the protection of personal information) and all persons authorized to obtain it according to the law.

The Organization does not rent, sell or trade your personal information.

Conservation/Destruction/Location

The Organization retains your personal information for the period necessary for the uses for which it was collected and for applicable legal retention periods, which may sometimes justify longer retention periods. Destruction or anonymization (removal of information allowing a person to be identified) is carried out securely.

The Organization uses technology systems and service providers that ensure the secure storage of your personal information so as to maintain its confidentiality.

Navigation cookies and Google Analytics

Navigation lights

The Organization applies security measures proportional to the sensitivity of your personal information in order to preserve its confidentiality.

Access and rectification of your personal information

You will be able to consult the personal information that the Organization has collected or obtained about you in the context of the use of the Service, verify its accuracy and modify it if necessary, subject however to exceptions provided for in the law. Requests for access and rectification are free. However, reasonable fees may be charged for the transcription, reproduction or transmission of your personal information. Your request for access or rectification must be sent to the office of the person responsible for the protection of personal information at the contact details below and will be processed in accordance with the applicable requirements.

Automated processing

If the Organization implements a decision-making process which is based exclusively on automated processing (without human intervention) of personal information, and which is based solely on an algorithm, you will be informed of this and will be informed of your right to present your observations regarding this decision.

Portability

You may obtain, upon request, a copy of the personal information that has been collected or obtained about you in connection with the use of the Service. In the absence of serious practical difficulties, you may request that your personal information be communicated to you in a structured and commonly used technological format.
